Salmon viewing field trip this Saturday, Sept. 26

Local biologist Bob Tuck will lead a  presentation at the salmon viewing area on the Cle Elum River on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10:30AM.   The salmon viewing area is a reliable spot to observe Spring Chinook salmon each fall.  In 2006, an ADA-accessible trail to the site was created, and in 2008, interpretive signs were installed along the trail.  In order to reach the trailhead of the ADA-accessible trail, visitors must either walk or drive down a short stretch of steep, rugged road.  High clearance vehicles are recommended for those who choose to drive that stretch of road.  An upper parking area can be reached by all passenger vehicles.
