Margaret Neuman, Executive DirectorMargaret has directed the activities of Mid-Columbia Fisheries since 2005. She is responsible for the financial management of the organization, as well as project development and implementation in the Klickitat, White and Wind River watersheds. Prior to moving to the Mid-Columbia region, she worked with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association.

2008 was a year of growth and change for the Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group. We doubled our staff (from one to two) and established our first office. The Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group is dedicated to restoring self-sustaining populations of salmon and steelhead. Mid-Columbia Fisheries works with landowners and community partners to protect and restore fish habitat.

What we do


Mid-Columbia Fisheries sponsors and supports projects to protect, restore, and enhance habitat for salmonids throughout our region. Projects include:

Riparian revegetation
Livestock exclusion fencing
Fish passage
Instream habitat improvement
Sediment reduction (bank stabilization, road storm-proofing, and more)
Assistance with habitat acquisition
